Creative ZiiSound D5 Bluetooth Speaker Review

D5 Creative ZiiSound promise to provide the convenience of wireless audio without committing the sin of sonic compromise, and it comes pretty damn close. If you're surprised, you will be surprised to know that is double completed this feat through Bluetooth.

The ZiiSound D5 is a bar type speakers, stereo sound with iPod dock, Bluetooth receiver and a Bluetooth adapter that can be installed in almost all models of iPhone, iPad, or the iPod (except Shuffle). If you prefer to listen from your computer, Creative sells $ 39 Bluetooth USB dongle separately. And if you have another brand of media player that is built by Creative, maybe 1/8-inch inputs, no charge on the back of the cabinet.
The D5 ZiiSound this stylish design - could almost be called a Zeppelin into cubes.

We have reviewed the Bluetooth sound system before and has not impressed. The D5 ZiiSound different. One of the main ingredients of the secret sauce of Creative is a third-party audio codec, known as apt-X Bluetooth. Apt-X audio encoded at a resolution of 16 bits and sampling frequency of 44.1 kHz (audio CD as well), and then compress at a ratio of 4:1 for wireless transmission via a Bluetooth connection.

We have a hearing ZiiSound D5 to play songs encoded in Apple Lossless format from the iPod is connected directly to the ZiiSound D5, and then run the same track via Bluetooth Dongle Creative. Surprisingly, we could not detect compression artifacts or other unpleasant in the river, even the audio sounds very good. Wireless Speakers for iPod much easier than the alternative. Who would not be best to take your iPod to change songs, adjust volume, or browse the playlist, instead of walking on top of the speakers and manipulate the iPod controls while docked.

All that said, however, know the number of audio manipulation imposed annoyed us on an intellectual level: the iPod is changing the song from digital to analog and outputs to the backpack, backpack change from analog to digital, the compressed, and streams to the speakers and the speakers make digital to analog to end playback. How could I not have the impact that sound?

Listen to the funky Mocean Worker "Chick A Boom Boom Boom" (from the soundtrack to Inside Deep Throat), we were surprised at the expansive sound stage D5 ZiiSound: this speaker system sounds much bigger than the 11.7 x 4, 3 x 3.5-inch dimension lead to believe. We soon discovered, however, that this speaker system does not like being pushed. While touring with David Bowie's "Sweet Thing" from the album Diamond Dog, which at maximum volume control too aggressive metal caressing touch around the center of the band ZiiSound D5: Bowie suddenly sounded like he was singing with cracklins mouthful of pork.

When all is said and done, ZiiSound D5 is a very solid effort, even if it falls within easy reach of both our dock iPod speaker current favorite, the size B & W Zeppelin. After all, the device costs more than twice and do not have a wireless option.
